Are children aware of how food gets to their dinner table? Do they notice crop fields during car rides? Can they name five products made from milk or list more than three ways to eat a potato? Would you like them to know these things?
FarmTime, an all-agriculture social network, would love to teach them!
FarmTime in the Classroom, an extension of FarmTime, offers agricultural information for children in a fun, colorful, monthly 4-page reader. The Reader includes engaging pictures, activities, Fun Facts and a short excerpt from the point of a view of a relatable farmer named Hank.
Geared toward children in grades 1-4, FarmTime in the Classroom's monthly readers encourage children to consider the workings of specific farms – dairy, potato, cotton and cattle ranch, for example. Children learn about the farm, read about the role of the farmer and are encouraged to connect how each farm relates to themselves.
Teachers can use the information as supplemental material to already formed teaching units or as a lesson all its own. The information is also pertinent for Home schooling curriculums.
For the 2013-2014 school year, FarmTime in the Classroom will be offering a subscription for nine monthly issues, September through May, and the first two Readers are ready right now!
Ordering Readers is easy. Simply visit FarmTime in the Classroom's website www.farmtimeclassroom.com and click on "Order" at the top of the page.
Begin educating children, with the help of Farmer Hank, and watch them begin to take notice on their own!
