FFA Elects New Officers

The nearly 500,000 member organization elected its 2006-07 officers at its national convention Monday.

The FFA announced its 2006-07 National Officers at the final session of the National FFA Convention Monday.

Beau Williamson of California won the top spot. Joining him will be: Kacy Baugher Illinois, Secretary; Janette Barnard, Arizona, Western Region Vice President; Jamie Cecil, Colorado, Central Region Vice President; Jennifer Himburg, Alabama, Southern Region Vice President; and Coty Back, Kentucky; Eastern Region Vice President.

These officers were among 41 candidates who went through a rigorous selection process including assessment of academic and extracurricular accomplishments, an in-depth application, and five rounds of interviews and writing exercises at the convention.

The new officers will be ambassadors for agriculture and will represent the FFA and its members in the next year.
