John Deere has unveiled a new line of tractors for operators wanting economical power in the 45 to 74 hp. range.
The 5003 Series is powered with a 3-cylinder 2.9L turbocharged diesel engine ahead of two available transmissions, a 9F/3R SyncReverser for 2WD models, and the 9F/3R SyncShuttle for 4WD applications.
The 2WD shifter provides an in-line synchronized shuttle shift of nine forward speeds and three reverse gears, allowing operators to shift without coming to a full stop in loading and other repetitive operations. The SyncShuttle offers the same features plus allows forward synchronized shifting with clutching between gears on the go.
John Deere's new 5003 Series tractor offers economical power in the 45-74 hp. range. The series comes in 2WD or 4WD and offers one basic engine design and two transmissions.
The 4WD models turn on a heavy-duty front axle capable of 55 degree turns and limited slip traction. The front drive axle is designed to oscillate 10 degrees to follow uneven terrain.
The 5003 has an open center hydraulic system and sports separate hydraulic systems for braking and steering to improve implement performance. The 5003 comes with a single rear SCV, with dual SCVs available as field-installed kits. Dual mid-SCVs with joystick control are also available as factory or field-installed options.
A straddle-mount design features platform mounted shift levers and suspended clutch and brake pedals.
Additional features include storage for tools, parts and owners manuals, a fender-mounted tool box, optional factory-installed loaders, an optional right side step to allow entrance or exit from either side of the tractor.
Models include: 5103, 45 hp.; 5203, 56 hp.; 5303, 64 hp.; and 5403, 74 hp. (PTO hp. ratings are slightly lower.)
