The Agriculture Council of America this week announced the date for the 41st annual National Agriculture Day as March 25, 2014.
As part of the day's events, ACA will host a Mix-and-Mingle Luncheon and the National Celebration of Agriculture Dinner in Washington, D.C. Additionally, the ACA will bring approximately 100 college students to Washington to deliver the message of Ag Day to the Hill.
ACA says the events "honor National Agriculture Day and mark a nationwide effort to tell the true story of American agriculture and remind citizens that agriculture is a part of all of us."
A number of producers, agricultural associations, corporations, students and government organizations involved in agriculture are expected to participate.
The programs will further encourage Americans to: understand production agriculture; appreciate the role agriculture plays in providing food and fiber; value agriculture's role in economic well-being; and consider career opportunities in the agriculture industry.
In addition to the events in Washington, D.C., on March 25, the ACA will once again feature the Ag Day Essay Contest as well as the 2014 Ag Day Poster Art Contest. More information can be found on www.agday.org.
