Rural Infrastructure Loans Available

Applications now accepted for grants and loans to improve infrastructure in rural areas.

Six programs are now taking applications from small towns and rural areas for loans and grants from USDA Rural Development for infrastructure improvements.

"These loans, grants and loan/grant combinations will help communities provide essential services and maintain the infrastructure necessary for businesses and residents to enjoy a high quality of life in rural areas," says USDA Undersecretary for Rural Development Tom Dorr.

Applications for the Public TV Digital Conversion Grant, Community Connect Grant, High Cost Energy Program, and Revolving Fund Grant are due Mar. 28, 2008. The Distance Learning and Telemedicine Loan and Grant Program deadline is April 14, 2008 and applications for the Household Water Well Grant Program are due May 31, 2008.
