Nebraska FFA Convention breaks records

In April, nearly 5,000 students from 184 FFA chapters across Nebraska made their way to the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln's Haymarket District for the 90th Nebraska FFA State Convention.

With 640 State FFA degrees awarded, 4,871 preregistered students, 240 preregistered advisers and 1,597 reregistered guests, this year saw an all-time high for the number of FFA chapters and members at the convention, and a record number of state degree recipients.

It's also worth noting that the number of FFA chapters in Nebraska continues to rise. The state now has a record number of FFA chapters, with new chapters starting up in places like Wayne and Neligh-Oakdale in the last year.

Next fall, six new chapters are set to get started, including North Platte High School. Other Class A schools that have added an FFA chapter in the last several years include The Career Academy at Lincoln Public Schools and Kearney High School.
